Cinttec is the techonology and knowledge transfer officer and act as a interface among research groups from Universidad Rey Juan Carlos and different organisation interested in our research activities.

mHealth: Electrocardiogram remote monitoring system for iOS devices

We present a novel application, which can display real-time ECG traces. The kay issue of this work is that we can monitor clinical data or alarms from standard and propietary protocols; irt also includes store and forward. Besides, it allows simultaneous monitoring of several patients in a centralized management system. We have validated the solution using General Electric (GE) CIC of monitored patients using Wi-Fi on an iPad/iPhone device as portable monitor. Additionally, it can display data from a low cost prototype using Bluetooth or WiFi

The describbed system is a prototype under development and can still be substantially improved. Algorithms for automatic analysis, cardiopathy detection and emergency alarm triggering, should also be included to improve the system functionality. The integration of the application within the "Hospital de Fuenlabrada" information management system is being explored. The system is considered useful by nursing and medical staff. A broader clinical test will confirm the feasibility and usability of the system.

Wireless Sensor Networks: Signal Processing and Applications

Research and Development capacities on Physical, MAC and Routing layers. Our group has contributions and publications on optimization procedures on these layers and their joint optimization (cross-layer). We have experience also on distributed processing of application data. We offer a midium-size research group seeking for new application fields. We have two large-scale WSN Test-Beds on the Building Sensoring and Body Sensoring ready to test new applications and algorithms.
