New system for the location and communication of traffic warnings

Emergency lights in vehicles are crucial on the road to warn nearby vehicles about traffic incidents. However, they are not efficient enough under low visibility, adverse weather conditions or in case of obstacles.
The main objective of this technology is to improve road safety by means of a system based on a satellite positioning system and on radio communications, to reduce the number of accidents that might be caused by damaged vehicles, accidents, people with reduced mobility (pedestrian of special characteristics, cyclists, etc.) or by any other incident that may generate a risk for the drivers.
Knowing in real time the position of the source of danger and transmit this information to the rest of the vehicles would greatly help to avoid possible accidents and to improve the fluency in congested traffic.
This technology reduces these risks reinforcing the visual warnings from the traditional emergency lights by means of a radiofrequency signal that is transmitted from the source of danger. This signal will be received by the approaching vehicles, in a way that they receive the type of incident and its position being able to calculate the distance to it. Jointly with the position, the cause of the incident or warning is transmitted: slow vehicle, special convoys, mist, accident, works on the road, etc.).
This technology consists of a method and system for the location and communication (transmission and reception) in real time, without the need of intermediate elements (existing communication networks such as GSM, central servers, etc.), of incident warnings on the road for the vehicles close to the incident. The method is based on the communication, via radio, between the element generating of the warning, named source of danger, and the approaching vehicles, being identified in this communication the location and the type of incident generated.
